Terror Train needs a Harry Potter Reboot.

With all the talk of HBO rebooting the Harry Potter movies as a series, I think the best thing to do would be the addition of NON-Harry Potter content into the world. Lets expand on the Wizarding World itself, and (although Tuni did a remake in 2022) I think the best addition is a HP Horror Movie - and the movie Terror Train is perfect for the role.

The movie Terror Train is a complex slasher film that features a unique setting on a party train celebrating New Year's Eve. The story revolves around a group of college students who play pranks on each other and end up facing the consequences when a killer begins stalking and murdering them in different costumes. The cast includes notable actors like Jamie Lee Curtis, Sandee Currie, Joy Boushel, Vanity (billed as D.D. Winters), and David Copperfield, who plays himself as a hired magician to entertain the passengers.

Although the movie has some pacing issues, continuity problems, and outdated aspects, it is still a fun holiday slasher that keeps the audience guessing with its plot twists and unique setting. The standout performances from the supporting cast, especially Ben Johnson as the Conductor, add depth to the movie. However, the use of (then) virtually unknown actors could be a downside in terms of acting ability.

Regarding a potential reboot, the idea of a "Harry Potter Universe" slasher film is intriguing. Instead of college kids, the story could follow Hogwarts students traveling on the Hogwarts Express for the holidays. The pranks and jokes could be attributed to the playful nature of the Hogwarts students, and tension could arise from the rivalry between the houses. The addition of magic spells and potions, Weasley's Wizard Wheezes, and interactions with iconic characters like the Hogwarts Express Conductor and the Trolley Witch could add a unique Potterverse feel to the movie.

One possible twist could be to have David Copperfield's character be a muggle hired to entertain the Hogwarts students with his "magic." This would add humor and a unique dynamic to the story, especially if he impresses the muggle-hating Slytherins with his slight of hand.

Overall, the idea of a "Harry Potter Universe" slasher film has great potential and could be a thrilling addition to the horror genre.
