Tasting History with Max Miller

I have been a big fan on Max Miller for quite some time. We stumbled upon his videos, like many of you, during Covid isolation when we could not find any new entertainment material.

But for those of you who do not know who he is, or why you should watch him…..Watch, Read and Learn.

Max Miller, the creator of the YouTube channel Tasting History. Miller was born on March 30, 1983, in Phoenix, Arizona, and developed an early interest in history. As a child, he read about Charles Cornwallis at the Siege of Yorktown and wrote a report on it just for fun. Later, he attended Arizona State University and earned a degree in classical music before moving to New York City to pursue his passion for Broadway theatre.

However, Miller's career path took a different turn when he moved from New York City to Los Angeles to pursue voice acting. He got hired at Walt Disney Studios in marketing and later moved to film distribution. It was during a vacation to Walt Disney World with a sick friend that he discovered The Great British Bake Off and became inspired to start cooking.

Miller began baking on his own, starting with a Battenberg cake, and soon began bringing cakes to work and giving mini-lectures on them to his co-workers. One of his colleagues suggested that he create videos on the topic, and Tasting History was born.

Miller uploaded the first episode of Tasting History in February 2020, and he continued to create videos throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. In January 2021, Tasting History reached 500K subscribers on YouTube, and in February 2021, Simon & Schuster announced that they would be publishing Miller's cookbook in 2022 via Tiller Press.

In April 2021, Miller released a video titled "I Quit" in which he explained that he had been furloughed from Disney due to the pandemic and had focused on the channel. Disney had contacted him to resume his job, but Miller had decided to quit and focus on Tasting History instead.

Miller's love of history and cooking shines through in his videos, which combine historical research with delicious recipes. He is an inspiration to anyone who wants to pursue their passion and turn it into a successful career.
