"Cartman and the Hobbit" is a comedic short film produced by South Park Studios for the 2012 SpikeTV Video Game Awards, held on December 7th of that year. The film opens with a small Hobbit examining a ring, when suddenly Eric Cartman appears in costume, inspired by "The Return of the Fellowship of the Ring to the Two Towers" and the game "South Park: The Stick of Truth."

Cartman attempts to persuade the Hobbit to join him in his mission to eliminate all the Hippies. However, the Hobbit is confused and declines, stating that he is on a quest to find a dragon's treasure. This angers Cartman, who demands that the Hobbit "respect his authoritah." then bashes the Hobbit's head in with his staff before turning to face the audience attending the VGA awards.

The film then cuts to Cartman addressing the audience at the awards show, where he introduces the host of the event, Samuel L. Jackson as “That bald guy from The Matrix! Samuel Leroy Jackson!”
