Dungeons And Dragons Booze from New Holland Brewing.

Here we are, more than halfway through Dungeons & Dragons' 50th anniversary year, and we finally have a product I can get excited about. New Holland Brewing and Wizards of the Coast (WotC) have teamed up to release limited-edition Dragon’s Milk products—D20 Brew Bourbon Barrel-Aged Stout and Origin Mead Cask Bourbon Whiskey.

Stouts and Whiskey? Yes, Please.

I’ve always been a fan of Dragon’s Milk, and their Origin Small Batch Bourbon is top-notch (although I wish they’d give the bottle design a bit more love). So, I’m confident that New Holland will deliver something exceptional with these limited-edition brews. Their reputation for bold, legendary beverages is well earned.

But I can’t help but notice how underwhelming WotC and Hasbro’s efforts have been on the actual gaming side of things for this monumental anniversary. Drinks and merch are great, but where are the game-changing, original releases? Where are the new campaigns, or even reprints of classic content to mark this milestone? Instead, it feels like we’ve gotten retrospective books pushing certain agendas, announcements for future products, and a focus on a virtual tabletop (VTT) marketplace that leans heavily into pay-to-play.

On the bright side, New Holland’s merch store will be part of this rollout, and believe me, it’s going to sell out fast. I’ve already grabbed my set of glasses.

So, while we wait (and hope) for more meaningful gaming content, we can at least raise a glass of Dragon’s Milk and toast to 50 years of epic adventures.
