Dungeons & Dragons Movie News
Unless you have been hiding under a rock the last few months (but hey, with Covid – who is judging?), you know that there is currently a Dungeons & Dragon’s filming starring some big names, such as Chris Pine (Star Trek), Michelle Rodriguez (SWAT, Avatar, Fast and Furious series), Rege-Jean Page (Roots Miniseries) and Chloe Coleman (MySpy and Avatar 2). Of these actors, Chris Pine is the most interesting, because he already has stepped into a medieval role with the highly underrated Outlaw King. Given his (and the rest of the casts experience), I like where they are going here and it should be a solid cast.

With the cast resolved, there are still a few burning questions, such as– what kind of movie is this going to be? Where is it going to be set?
Well, it appears we have a sleuth in our midst, as Twitter User Pipax (@thePipas0) has done a copy-right search and is believed to have uncovered the plot synopsis.
An ex-Harper turned thief escapes from prison with his partner, a female barbarian, and reunites with a no-talent wizard and a druid new to their team in an effort to rob the cheating conman who stole all their loot from the heist that landed them behind bars, and used it to install himself as the Lord of Neverwinter. Only the traitor is allied with a powerful Red Wizard who has something far more sinister in store.
While I was hoping for Sleeping Dragon kind of movie (by Joel Rosenburg) or a possible live action version of the cartoon, it looks like this movie is definatly going to be a set piece based in Forgotten Realms. With Neverwinter and Red Wizards, it should be interesting how this plays out, as it appears they are doing an epic level adventure right out of the gate, trying to pack as much into one movie vs doing a series where we would get character development. Hopefully they pull this off, but with the latest news - I am on the fence.
